WhatsApp has recently introduced its Dark Mode feature within the app in its latest beta version. The new dark mode is supposedly a user-friendly feature for the folks using AMOLED and OLED displays. The official rollout hasn’t begun yet and is still in testing phase. However, Facebook-owned messaging platform with 1.5 Billion monthly active users is currently working on another new feature that allows users to listen received voice messages consecutively and there are also improvements in Picture-in-Picture mode as well.
According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp has started testing the new consecutive voice message feature with the latest 2.19.86 beta update. Voice message feature was added later to the interactive messaging app after its launch and is now being used amongst those billion active users every day. Voice messages in WhatsApp conversations allows users to share lengthy messages instead of typing them and the message can be delivered quite quickly. If you are that user who receives voice messages frequently – thanks to the group chats, now you can hear them consecutively instead of tapping each voice message individually.
This new feature will indeed become quite convenient to use and will certainly help the users to have more swift experience, once the official rollout begins. As stated, this new feature is still in beta and official rollout is expected soon. Along with the new consecutive voice message feature, WhatsApp’s 2.19.86 beta also includes improved picture-in-picture mode, which was released earlier for the app.
For those unaware, the picture-in-picture (PiP) mode allows users to watch videos in a pop-up window within the chat for links received through Instagram, YouTube or Facebook instead of redirecting to the app or phone’s browser. While the initially launched PiP feature allowed users to watch videos within the conversation, the improved PiP will now enable users to view anywhere in the WhatsApp app, and users can navigate within the app without any hassle. Also, users can also watch the PiP videos on the home screen while WhatsApp runs in the background, which is quite handy.
Both the feature’s rollout seems imminent along with the much anticipated dark mode as well. Stay tuned to PhoneRadar for more such interesting updates.
