Even though they are getting more feature-rich, most modern smartphones are now missing out on a dedicated notification LED which can be quite annoying at times as it involves lifting or turning on the display of your phone to check if you have any pending notifications. If your phone sports an AMOLED display, you should definitely check out NotifyBuddy, which is an app that simulates notification LED on your phone’s display.
The developer of NotifyBuddy has targeted the app for OnePlus 6T. However, the app will work on other devices too. The app can be used on LCD screens but that will make the entire display to light up which will noticeably affect battery life. Hence, it is recommended to use the app on OLED screens.
In case you’re scared of the infamous burn-in issue which can be seen on many OLED smartphones these days, the app has burn-in protection that shifts the position of the LED notification in regular intervals so that there won’t be much pressure for a particular region in the screen.
The app provides the option to choose the apps for which you need to have the LED notification. You may select the app by switching the toggle on the corresponding app. It also lets users tweak the LED animation time, blink interval, and has a stop timer. If you need the app to stop working while DND mode is turned on, you can enable the option from the Settings as seen in the image above. NotifyBuddy is available for download in the Google Play Store. Try the app and share your experience with us in the comments.
