Chinese Android device maker Vivo has been on a binge of launching new smartphones this year. The company had launched the V15 Pro early this month. Followed by Vivo X27 & X27 Pro smartphones with pop-up selfie cameras and not long ago the company had also launched the Vivo V15 smartphone as well. Well, there’s a new device from Vivo yet again added to its smartphones portfolio – the Vivo S1.
Yes, the company had launched its first S series smartphone called – the Vivo S1 in China. This is the new mid-range device from the company that shares identical specifications with the recently launched Vivo V15 smartphone. The Vivo S1 features a 6.53-inch full-screen HD display that delivers a screen-to-body-ratio of 90.95%. The display also features an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. In order to achieve this full-screen display the company, which pioneered in pop-up selfie cameras before with the Vivo Apex last year, has utilized the same mechanism on the Vivo S1 smartphone as well.
The Vivo S1 features a 24.8MP front facing pop-up selfie camera that claims to be using a physical vapor deposition technology for capturing selfies with ease. As for the rear cameras is concerned, the Vivo S1 comes with the triple lens camera setup similar to the Vivo V15 that comprises of a 12MP primary camera coupled with 8MP wide-angle camera and a 5MP camera as well. The cameras feature notable modes that include – an ultra-wide angle camera mode, portrait blur adjustment, and AI beauty and body modes as well.
Under the hood, the Vivo S1 is built on an Helio P70 chipset that is followed by 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage and the company provides microSD expansion of up to 256GB as well. Out-of-the-box, the Vivo S1 runs on Android 9.0 Pie-based FunTouch OS 9 and lastly for authentication it has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. Unlike the Vivo V15, which featured a 4000mAh battery, the Vivo S1 packs in a 3940mAh battery capacity.
As for the pricing, the Vivo S1 smartphone has been launched in China for CNY 2298 (approx. Rs 23,600) and the device features in Pet powder and Ice Lake Blue color variants.
